Today I wanted to share a cute idea for all of you who might need a last minute gift. I found this and loved the look of it. Of course I liked it, so I had to share.
For the hot cocoa part I used : Cocoa mix, chocolate chips, and marshmallows. If you wanted, you could also use peppermint candies.
I also used a mason jar and a funnel.
I started by putting the cocoa mix in the jar first. Once it was even, I added the chocolate chips and the marshmallows. Next I took some more supplies and made his face and collar.
I used : Bells, red pom-pom, scissors, thin red ribbon, thick red ribbon, eyes, hot glue gun, green pipe cleaners ( not pictured).
I started by randomly bending the pipe cleaners into antlers. I fixed them around until I liked how they looked. Once I had both antlers made, I glued them on the back of the jar. I then took a thick piece of ribbon and wrapped it around the neck of the jar to create a collar. After I had finished wrapping and folding the ribbon, I threaded the bells onto the thin red ribbon. I strung seven bells into a cluster. I then glued that cluster to the center of the collar. After that I attached his eyes and nose. I screwed on the lid, and DONE. I think this turned out really cute. It was very easy to make, and I think it would be fun to change the colors on this as well. You could take a crazy approach on it and make it whatever color scheme you need! I hope you all give this a try! See you guys tomorrow!
Hello to all of you wonderful people!
I hope you are having a great Monday. Today I wanted to share another gift wrapping idea. I love to wrap gifts in unique ways. When I saw this idea I loved it. It’s a bit different from the ‘classic’ wrapping, but like I said I like things to be different. 🙂
The materials I used were : Brown gift wrapping paper, twine, scissors, wooden letter, gift tag, blue scrapbooking paper, and a hot glue gun.
First I wrapped my gift in the brown paper. Next I took the colored paper and traced a circle on the back and cut it out. I folded the circle three times to create a little triangle. I then randomly cut little nooks and crannies into the circle. When I unfolded it, ahhhhhhhh it was so pretty. I hot glued the center to the package. I wrapped the twine both ways around the package and hot glued it to the bottom of the gift. Next, to add a little personalization, I took the wooden letter and glued it to the gift tag. I then glued that on the package as well. I think this turned out so cute. If you wanted to make this for a young kid or baby, you could always change up the colors. You could use neon paper, cover the letter with glitter, or anything else that comes to mind. I hope you take this as an inspiration and run with it 🙂
Today I thought I would share another edible gift idea. I’ve made these cookies for a ton of parties and people love them. To me they resemble a snow covered chocolate cookie so I think they are perfect for winter! The ingredients I used were :
- 1 cup of unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 cups of white sugar
- 1/2 cup of vegetable oil
- 4 eggs
- 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons of baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
1/2 cup ( more or less) of confectioners’ sugar
To start I combined the cocoa, white sugar, and vegetable oil. After they were well mixed, I beat in the eggs one at a time. Once all the eggs were mixed in I added the vanilla extract. In a separate bowl I combined the flour, baking powder, and salt. After they were thoroughly combined, I dumped half of the dry mix into the wet mixture. After mixing that, I added the rest of the dry mix. Once everything was well combined, I chilled the dough in the fridge for 30 minutes.
After the dough was chilled, I created an assembly line.
So first you scoop about a tablespoon of dough, and plop it in the powdered sugar. You want to make sure you coat it completely in the powdered sugar.
I then placed it on a greased baking sheet. I did this until all of them were ready to be baked. I baked them at 350 degrees for 10 minuets.
These turned out soooooo good. Every time I’ve made them people always ask for the recipe, so here it is!! 🙂
Wrap some of these up in a box or a cellophane bag, and you’ve got an immediate gift. These are SUPER delicious! I hope you try them out. I’ll see you guys tomorrow!
I hope you all are having a wonderful Saturday! Me and my family are in full swing getting ready for Christmas. Holiday baking has begun.
For today I thought I would share another #OOTD. The dress is the same style but a different color. I picked up three colors when I saw them. ( If a girl sees em, she’s got to get one in every color! 🙂 )
Here’s the outfits overview. This is the Dressy outfit. Dress is from H+M, shoes from Stein Mart, scarf is from Walmart , purse was bought here.
This is the casual outfit. Dress is from H+M, vest is from Target, boots are also from Target, and the purse was bought here.
Here are the pictures of me wearing them. I think this one is great for parties, dinners, and etc.
This one would be great for everyday going around town, or even for a casual party! I once again used my vest to dress it down a bit. ( I told you I loved my vest ! 🙂 )
I hope you are all enjoying these posts. Comment if you would like for me to post about something! I hope y’all have a great evening! See you tomorrow!!
Hope you are all having an interesting week!! I certainly am!!! Yesterday we felt tremors from an earthquake north of Guadalajara, and today we just capped the middle of the week off with a taxi ride.( Which here, can scare you half to death 🙂 )
I thought today I would throw a little inspiration out there for y’all in the world of clothes!!! I bought three dresses a couple of weeks back from H+M. The others will be posted soon. In these particular outfits I was wearing my black dress. It is VERY rare when you can find modest clothing, much less dresses. I took pictures of them laid out and of me wearing them. This is the dressy style! I got the dress from H+M, the purse from Kohls, the scarf from Walmart, and I bought the shoes here. Everything else besides the shoes you can get in the states. This is the casual style. I got the shoes from nine west (westies) I got the vest from Target, and I got the scarf from Target as well. Denim instantly adds casualness to any outfit! I literally wear my vest out because of that reason 🙂
Here are the pictures of me wearing the outfits. Huge props to my sister for taking these pictures:) I hope I brought some inspiration to you. I do most of my shopping when I visit the states so mostly everything I post in #OOTDs you will be able to get!! I think the dressy one would be great to wear to a holiday party or banquet. the casual one can be worn to anything. I love the dress because with different pieces it is very versatile! Have a good rest of the week!! I’ll see you all tomorrow.
We are on the second day of the 12 days of Christmas!!! I hope you are all having a great Tuesday ( I literally just had to check and make sure it was tues.) 😦 That’s what school and life will do to ya!!
For today I thought I would post a décor item. I made a “Merry Christmas” banner, hung it above my bed, and I love it!! I used the following items: colored paper, twine, mini clothespins, cardstock, and regular paper. For tools I used scissors, ruler, hot glue gun, and extra hot glue.
I began by flipping my decorative paper over and measured so I would get even squares. They were 3 inches by 3 1/2 inches. I did this until I had 14 squares. Next I cut them out and set them aside.
Now we get on to the time consuming part:) I took my kindle and typed in on google “letter m stencil”. I repeated that for every letter. The light from the kindle shone thru the regular paper so I was able to see the outline. I traced every letter then cut them out. Afterward I traced them on cardstock and cut them out again. I did this until I was thru with merry and with Christmas. Next I used hot glue and attached the letters to the squares of paper. So when I finished with all 14 letters I got the twine and then started gluing. I glued every corner together. Every couple of letters I would put a clothespin.
After I strung all of the letters I hung it on my bed. I love that it adds an instant Christmas spirit to your room!!! I hope you try it out and if so let me know if you like it!! Anything y’all( I still use my Texas accent!) want to see in this series comment and let me know!! 🙂
Hope you all are having a great Monday! I am starting a new series!!! Today marks exactly 12 days till Christmas. So everyday including Christmas I will be uploading a DIY post. Be on the lookout for edible gifts, hairstyles, bath and body, and gift wrapping. I hope you all enjoy it!!
I am going to start it off with a wonderful Peppermint body/face scrub!
For this scrub I used very common ingredients. (I know what it’s like to not be able to get everything recipes call for :).) Here’s the recipe:
- 3/4 cup of sugar
- 1/3 cup of coconut oil
- 4 drops of peppermint essential oil (I used Doterra oil)
- 5 drops of red food coloring I began by combining the sugar and coconut oil. Next I separated the mixture in half and colored one half with red food coloring. I then added 2 drops of peppermint oil to each bowl and began to layer the red and white in the mason jar.
After I finished layering the colors all the way to the top, I let it set for a couple of minutes to let the coconut oil set. I picked out a stash of Christmas paper, ribbon, stickers, and I made a tag out of cardstock. I put the recipe on the back so in case the person you gift it to wants to make it, they have the recipe. I added a really cute label to the top of the jar and a ribbon. I think it turned out great!! I hope you try it ! Merry Christmas,
