12 DIYS of Christmas {Reindeer Hot Cocoa Mix}

Hello everyone,

Today I wanted to share a cute idea for all of you who might need a last minute gift. I found this and loved the look of it. Of course I liked it, so I had to share.

For the hot cocoa part I used : 20151222_221129                            Cocoa mix, chocolate chips, and marshmallows. If you wanted, you could also use peppermint candies.

I also used a mason jar and a funnel.  20151222_221237

I started by putting the cocoa mix in the jar first. 20151222_221410                       Once it was even, I added the chocolate chips and the marshmallows.  20151222_222508              Next I took some more supplies and made his face and collar.

I used : 20151222_224215               Bells, red pom-pom, scissors, thin red ribbon, thick red ribbon, eyes, hot glue gun, green pipe cleaners ( not pictured).

I started by randomly bending the pipe cleaners into antlers. I fixed them around until I liked how they looked. 20151222_225019                     Once I  had both antlers made, I glued them on the back of the jar.20151222_225414                   I then took a thick piece of ribbon and wrapped it around the neck of the jar to create a collar. 20151222_225930          After I had finished wrapping and folding the ribbon, I threaded the bells onto the thin red ribbon. I strung seven bells into a cluster. 20151222_231515                           I then glued that cluster to the center of the collar.  20151222_231832                    After that I  attached his eyes and nose. 20151222_231930                  I screwed on the lid, and DONE.  20151222_232904                      I think this turned out really cute. It was very easy to make, and I think it would be fun to change the colors on this as well. You could take a crazy approach on it and make it whatever color scheme you need! 20151222_233032                                           I hope you all give this a try! See you guys tomorrow!

Merry Christmas,

Victoria  🙂

12 DIYS of Christmas {Snowflake Gift Wrapping}

Hello to all of you wonderful people!

I hope you are having a great Monday. Today I wanted to share another gift wrapping idea. I love to wrap gifts in unique ways. When I saw this idea I loved it. It’s a bit different from the ‘classic’ wrapping, but like I said I like things to be different. 🙂

The materials I used were : 20151221_173813                                Brown gift wrapping paper, twine, scissors, wooden letter, gift tag, blue scrapbooking paper, and a hot glue gun.

First I wrapped my gift in the brown paper. 20151221_175201                 Next I took the colored paper and traced a circle on the back and cut it out.20151221_175727                         I folded the circle three times to create a little triangle. I then randomly cut little nooks and crannies into the circle. 20151221_180505                    When I unfolded it, ahhhhhhhh it was so pretty. I hot glued the center to the package. 20151221_180601             I wrapped the twine both ways around the package and hot glued it to the bottom of the gift. 20151221_180816                      Next, to add a little personalization, I took the wooden letter and glued it to the gift tag. 20151221_180954                  I then glued that on the package as well. 20151221_181532                I think this turned out so cute.  20151221_181712                 If you wanted to make this for a young kid or baby, you could always change up the colors. You could use neon paper, cover the letter with glitter, or anything else that comes to mind. 20151221_181727                   20151221_181738                                             I hope you take this as an inspiration and run with it 🙂

Merry Christmas,

Victoria  🙂

12 DIYS of Christmas { Chocolate Crinkle Cookies}

Hola, amigos!

Today I thought I would share another edible gift idea. I’ve made these cookies for a ton of parties and people love them. To me they resemble a snow covered chocolate cookie so I think they are perfect for winter! 20151220_173102             The ingredients I used were :

  •   1 cup of unsweetened cocoa powder
  •  2 cups of white sugar
  • 1/2 cup of vegetable oil
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons of baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt

1/2 cup ( more or less) of confectioners’ sugar

To start I combined the cocoa, white sugar, and vegetable oil.  20151220_162432                After they were well mixed, I beat in the eggs one at a time. 20151220_162648          Once all the eggs were mixed in I added the vanilla extract. 20151220_163043            In a separate bowl I combined the flour, baking powder, and salt. 20151220_163451                       After they were thoroughly combined, I dumped half of the dry mix into the wet mixture. After mixing that, I added the rest of the dry mix.20151220_163610              Once everything was well combined,20151220_163950 I chilled the dough in the fridge for 30 minutes.

After the dough was chilled, I created an assembly line. 20151220_170514

So first you scoop about a tablespoon of dough, and plop it in the powdered sugar.  20151220_170552          You want to make sure you coat it completely in the powdered sugar.

I then placed it on a greased baking sheet. 20151220_170630               I did this until all of them were ready to be baked. 20151220_171459                     I baked them at 350 degrees for 10 minuets.

20151220_173102              These turned out soooooo good. Every time I’ve made them people always ask for the recipe, so here it is!!  🙂

Wrap some of these up in a box or a cellophane bag, and you’ve got an immediate gift. These are SUPER delicious! I hope you try them out. I’ll see you guys tomorrow!

Merry Christmas,

Victoria  🙂

12 DIYS of Christmas {Coffee Cup Gift Tags}

Hello friends,

Hope you are having a good day !!  Today is very exciting because me and my family have officially been here for ONE YEAR!!!!!!  I can’t believe it has already been a year! Time flies like crazy.

I spotted these cute gift tags on Pinterest  and had to make them!! (If you know me you know I LOVE coffee:)!)  These turned out so cute!                                            For supplies I used :  20151218_153256  Christmas paper, scissors, white paper, and glue.

I typed in on Google “coffee cup” and found a image I liked.   20151218_152554      I copied it to Microsoft Office and printed it out.  20151218_152651        I had to size it down some because it was too large.

After that I cut it out and traced it on the back of the colored paper.  20151218_153711                              20151218_154323     After I cut it out, I then traced the lid part and cut it out also.20151218_154546 20151218_154913           I  glued the lid to the cup and started on the band. 20151218_155020        I cut a rectangle out of the white paper and flipped the cup over and traced it.20151218_155157           20151218_155216                    I cut it out and glued it on.  20151218_155452              I did this to two more, and loved how they turned out.20151218_161913 You can leave them like that or optionally you can punch a hole in the top and add a ribbon!!  20151218_162257                       20151218_162616                       20151218_162820                 I love how these turned out!!!  I definitely think this would be a great gift tag for a coffee lover in your life. Gift wrapping is always fun to play around with!! I hope y’all have a great rest of the week!!  See you all tomorrow!

Merry Christmas,

Victoria  🙂

12 DIYS of Christmas { Sweet and Salty Christmas Bark}

Hello my friends,

I hope you have been enjoying the posts so far!! Today I thought I would share a edible gift idea. I’ve seen for years the chocolate and peppermint bark floating around the internet and wanted to put my own twist on it!  I made up the recipe as I went and it turned out awesome!

Sweet and Salty Chocolate Bark

  • 1 1/2 bars of white chocolate
  • 1 tablespoon of Crisco
  • 1 1/2 cups of milk chocolate chips

For my toppings I used pretzels, white choc. shavings, red sprinkles.

I started by combining the white chocolate with the tablespoon of Crisco so it would melt easier. I broke up the white chocolate into small pieces for the same reason.  20151217_151429      I microwaved the choc. for 30 sec. intervals on power level 5 stirring after every 30 sec. until it was melted. White chocolate is very hard to work with so you have to be very carful to not burn it.20151217_152209 After I melted the choc. I poured it on a cookie sheet and leveled it out.20151217_152339 I stuck it in the fridge until it hardened completely.  While I was waiting I prepared my toppings.  I used a knife and a square of white choc. to make shavings.  20151217_153638  Next I got about a handful of pretzels and broke them into smaller pieces. I also used a little bit of sprinkles.  20151217_154023      After my white choc. was completely hard I started to melt the chocolate chips.  I melted them in the same way. After they were melted I poured it on top of the white choc. 20151217_155506       While the chocolate was still melted I put on my toppings. 20151217_155642      I let the choc. harden completely before I took it out.   20151217_162840             Next I took it and started breaking pieces off. You can either break them or cut it with a knife. 20151217_163442       I LOVED the taste of this. It’s sweet and salty at the same time. ( Please don’t tell me I’m the only one that likes that combination!! 🙂 )  20151217_163542           This would make a great gift for a neighbor, friend, family, or anyone.  20151217_163606         I hope you try this out!! It’s amazingly good.   I may or may not eat the whole thing  🙂  ( Just kidding! I would really have to hit the gym the next day! 🙂 )   If you try it, let me know if you like it!

Merry Christmas,

Victoria  🙂

12 DIYS of Christmas { Causal and Dressy #OOTD}

Hello,

Hope you are all having an interesting week!! I certainly am!!! Yesterday we felt tremors from an earthquake north of Guadalajara, and today we just capped the middle of the week off with a taxi ride.( Which here, can scare you half to death  🙂 )

I thought today I would throw a little inspiration out there for y’all in the world of clothes!!!  I bought three dresses a couple of weeks back from H+M. The others will be posted soon. In these particular outfits I was wearing my black dress. It is VERY rare when you can find modest clothing, much less dresses. I took pictures of them laid out and of me wearing them. IMG_20151120_150458249_HDR            This is the dressy style!  I got the dress from H+M, the purse from Kohls, the scarf from Walmart, and I bought the shoes here. Everything else besides the shoes you can get in the states.    IMG_20151120_151552173_HDR                  This is the casual style. I got the shoes from nine west (westies) I got the vest from Target, and I got the scarf from Target as well. Denim instantly adds casualness to any outfit! I literally wear my vest out because of that reason 🙂

Here are the pictures of me wearing the outfits.  20151216_171306                                                                                                                     20151216_171749                                                        Huge props to my sister for taking these pictures:)  20151216_171629            I hope I brought some inspiration to you. I do most of my shopping when I visit the states so mostly everything I post in #OOTDs you will be able to get!!  I think the dressy one would be great to wear to a holiday party or banquet. the casual one can be worn to anything. I love the dress because with different pieces it is very versatile!   Have a good rest of the week!! I’ll see you all tomorrow.

Merry Christmas,

Victoria  🙂

12 DIYS of Christmas { Christmas Decor Banner }

Hey Friends,

We are on the second day of the 12 days of Christmas!!!  I hope you are all having a great Tuesday ( I literally just had to check and make sure it was tues.)  😦  That’s what school and life will do to ya!!

For today I thought I would post a décor item. I made a “Merry Christmas” banner, hung it above my bed, and I love it!!   20151215_170338   I used the following items:  20151215_145407        colored paper, twine, mini clothespins, cardstock, and regular paper.20151215_145657        For tools I used scissors, ruler, hot glue gun, and extra hot glue.

I began by flipping my decorative paper over and measured so I would get even squares. They were 3 inches by 3 1/2 inches.  I did this until I had 14 squares.   20151215_150204       20151215_150834Next I cut them out and set them aside.

Now we get on to the time consuming part:)  I took my kindle and typed in on google “letter m stencil”. I repeated that for every letter. The light from the kindle shone thru the regular  paper so I was able to see the outline. I traced every letter then cut them out.  20151215_152504       20151215_152653         Afterward I traced them on cardstock and cut them out again.   20151215_154648     20151215_155439                   I did this until I was thru with merry and with Christmas. Next I used hot glue and attached the letters to the squares of paper.  20151215_164407 So when I finished with all 14 letters I got the twine and then started gluing. 20151215_165229       I glued every corner together. Every couple of letters I would put a clothespin.

After I strung all of the letters I hung it on my bed.   20151215_170338I love that it adds an instant Christmas spirit to your room!!!  20151215_170408     20151215_170430 I hope you try it out and if so let me know if you like it!! Anything y’all( I still use my Texas accent!) want to see in this series comment and let me know!!    🙂

Merry Christmas,

Victoria   🙂

12 DIYS of Christmas { Peppermint Striped Body Scrub}

Hello Friends,

Hope you all are having a great Monday! I am starting a new series!!! Today marks exactly 12 days till Christmas. So everyday including Christmas I will be uploading a DIY post. Be on the lookout for edible gifts, hairstyles, bath and body, and gift wrapping. I hope you all enjoy it!!

I am going to start it off with a wonderful Peppermint body/face scrub!

For this scrub I used very common ingredients. (I know what it’s like to not be able to get everything recipes call for :).)  Here’s the recipe:

  • 3/4 cup of sugar
  • 1/3 cup of coconut oil
  • 4 drops of peppermint essential oil  (I used Doterra oil)
  • 5 drops of red food  coloring             IMG_20151208_161159432_HDR     I began by combining the sugar and coconut oil.   IMG_20151208_161347333_HDR    Next I separated the mixture in half and colored  one half with red food coloring.  IMG_20151208_161858017_HDR                 I then added 2 drops of peppermint oil to each bowl and began to layer the red and white in the mason jar. IMG_20151208_162042254   IMG_20151208_162134133_HDR   IMG_20151208_162225136

After I finished layering the colors all the way to the top, I let it set for a couple of minutes to let the coconut oil set. I picked out a stash of Christmas paper, ribbon, stickers, and I made a tag out of cardstock. IMG_20151208_165521446IMG_20151208_170857415        IMG_20151208_170907161I put the recipe on the back so in case the person you gift it to wants to make it, they have the recipe.     I added a really cute label to the top of the jar and a ribbon. I think it turned out great!!      IMG_20151208_171232102 IMG_20151208_171312907 IMG_20151208_171245049I hope you try it !                                                                                 Merry Christmas,

Victoria 🙂

Our Trip to the BEACH!!!!

Hello again, hope you all have had a happy weekend!

This weeks post is all about the beach. I know a lot of you heard about hurricane Patricia. Where we were a couple of weeks ago is where the hurricane hit. We don’t think that the place where we stayed got hit super hard but I’m sure it received some damage. The place where we stayed was called Mayan Resorts. It was beautiful.96[1] The resort is located in Puerto Vallarta. We had a wonderful time there. The lobby of our hotel was Egyptian untitledg - Copy untitledhinspired. They had statues of a fake burial tomb with mummies fifty feet high. When we checked in they gave us wristbands so we could eat at the restaurants, swim in the pools, go kayaking, and have access to the beach.20151015_220521_001Thanks to my fam. for taking this picture.(it took a slight bit of bribing) :). The grounds were absolutely beautiful. IMG_0214 IMG_0220 20151016_152600 20151016_152618 20151016_152651 20151016_152730 20151016_152813 20151016_153031

20151016_153034IMG_0230

I had never been to the beach before so I had a lot of fun. Although it looks really cloudy and somewhat stormy, it was a beautiful day. We only got one opportunity to get in the water because we were only there for three days and we were trying to squeeze in as much as possible. So on Saturday we went deep sea fishing. We left at six o’clock in the morning, and didn’t get back until around five or so. We had a blast. We caught fifteen Tuna, two Barracudas and one Pargo.

Can I talk about the FOOD? Like seriously? It was amazing.20151016_212212  20151016_212229 20151016_212238  20151016_212249 They had an AMAZING chocolate bar, and those statues were made entirely out of chocolate.  And……. they also had some heavenly burgers.

I mean seriously?IMG_0289  20151017_215501 So all in all we had a really good time and I hope you enjoyed your mini “tour”.  🙂

I hope YOU have a really great week!
